If you’re looking for the biggest party Downtown that will no doubt take up the entire block—look no further. Casey’s has been open for over 40 years. Its beautiful, long mahogany bar welcomes you as you enter. There is a stage for live music, and various indoor and outdoor gaming areas, which makes this a perfect St. Paddy’s Day spot.
Casey’s St. Paddy’s Day festival last year drew over 20,000 intoxicated Angelenos and spanned two city blocks with partiers wearing lush green apparel. We can surely expect an even bigger party this year, with green-colored beers, live music, and all the Irish eats you can possibly stomach.

Trying to stay close to the beach so you can pass out somewhere a little more appropriate? O’Brien’s Irish Pub is your spot. O’Brien’s is arguably the most traditional Irish pub on the west side. It’s set to open at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday for St. Paddy’s Day breakfast. Which may help if you’re trying to assemble the family before work for delicious shepherd’s pie.
Be sure to fill your stomach before beginning your green-beer day-drinking binge. O’Brien’s will definitely give you that laid back Gaelic vibe just before they bring the party flavor to your ears with traditional Irish bands scheduled to perform for the rest of the day.

Website: Jameson’s Irish Pub

Ah—this is where we spent last St. Paddy’s Day! Jameson’s is the prime Hollywood location to let loose on St. Patrick’s Day. It might not be the most traditional Irish pub on the block, but Jameson’s does have Jameson Irish Whiskey on tap to compliment its collection of rowdy beer pong tables and loud music blasting from every corner.
If you’re in the Hollywood area, we recommend checking this out for at least a few drinks while you figure out where else to sport your head-to-toe green attire.

Website: Rock and Reilly’s Pub
Phone: (310) 360-1400
If you’re looking for a big party that begins the weekend before St. Paddy’s Day—look no further. Rock and Reilly’s is the spot to go. Located in West Hollywood, the relatively hidden Irish pub may be hard to find—but once you enter, the decor is an excellent step up from a Jameson’s-like dive.
At their annual St. Paddy’s Day party, you can expect nine bars providing over 100 kegs, and about 5000 people clamoring for green beer even with a $25-$40 admission fee.

Website: Finn McCool’s
Phone: (310) 452-1734
Finn McCool’s is another ideal spot if you want to be near the beach while taking in some true Irish culture on St. Paddy’s Day. The venue is named after the legendary Irish warrior Fionn Mac Cumhaill and is infamous for its beautiful, traditional Irish music and its equally beautiful dark wood and Celtic carvings. The menu has some delicious Irish eats and the staff is a collection of extremely jolly Irishmen.

If you’re looking for the antithesis to the St. Paddy’s Day madness around town—consider checking out the St. Paddy’s Day shenanigans at Resident DTLA, a new downtown arts district venue. While it’s marketed as their St. Paddy’s Day show—this collection of noisy rock and punk will blast you far away from the Irish tonality around town and gift you with cheap, incredibly delicious and mixed drinks of all flavors while you chill in the venue, or in the new backyard area overlooking Urth cafe across the street. We’re not sure if anyone will be rocking green apparel—so maybe bring a plaid shirt to hide yours just in case.

We had to save this combo for last. At Ireland’s 32 you have over 50 years of history to soak in while you take a dive into its dive bar of regulars, locals, and celebrators of this momentous drinking olympics. On St. Paddy’s Day, 32 fills up every nook and cranny extremely fast—so either get there early or show up tipsy from one of your other six options that we listed above. The best part is that once you’re looking to chill out you’ve got Robin Hood, another bar right across the street! This bar is great for a quiet final drink along with some delicious British and Irish food to fill up your green swimming pool of a stomach.
